Submit by May 24, 2008

Select a local person from the past whose life, accomplishments, interests, talents, or even sense of humor, etc., are worth remembering. Ask for suggestions from neighbors, aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc., someone is bound to relate a tale that will spark your essay.

Research fully by interviewing your subject's family and/or friends, as well as historical records.

Stories must be no more than 4 pages, typewritten, double-spaced, one-inch margins on all four sides, with your name, address, street or apartment number, city and zip code, phone number, and e-mail address (if you have one). Staple title page to the essay.

Entries must be submitted to the Winfield Public Library by May 24, 2008 for consideration.
