"Rails Across Iowa"

Guest speaker, Rev. Phil Borleske

Today Iowa boasts 4,000 miles of railroads, including a main line of giant BNSF, which crosses Henry County and serves Mt Pleasant and New London. Railroad mileage in the Hawkeye State peaked in 1911, at about 10,500. At this time, no point in the state was more than 12 or 15 miles from a railroad.
